A collection of photos from some of the homes I’ve lived in over the years.

Thinking about the day where there is no need for paper anymore, makes me think of how we used to use it so much.

Many ideas ran through my head for the theme. Initially wanting to photograph hands intertwined in different positions to wanting to chop up and create new images from developed film. But instead here is a crochet paper chain I’m working on…stitched ‘together’.

I’m currently delving into inner child work, so I felt inspired to create something for this theme using my old home videos. When I think of “Soul,” I can’t help but imagine the purest form of it in a child, exploring the world for the first time. Initially, I created a soundscape and planned to leave it as is. However, I decided to experiment with some clips, syncing and matching them, and adding sound bites from different clips that weren’t shown.

After endless ideas, trials and fails with what I wanted to create. I looked out my window one day and witnessed a moment in time that made me look back at my past and forward to my future. Currently riding through a nostalgia wave, I find myself hopeful and excited for what I can duplicate one day.

A poem inspired by holding onto the moments in life we forget about. Holding onto the present and holding onto who we are through all of it until we pass it onto our next generation.
