I read an old Bo Burnham book of poetry and it reminded me of a playfulness and precision I’d forgotten since Dr Suess and John Hegley. My Favourite Bo Burnham poem was What A Wonderful Day To Be Dead and I wanted to respond to it and tie it into the theme, falling on the idea of the digital romantic space.
Escaped london in search of some space
WIP screenshots from a film I've been editing for a while
A painting that ended up looking like a very green planet!
You almost got a fun(?) essay about the Artemis mission this month, but I am moving house so instead, mercifully, here are some of my favourite quotes from the coverage/debriefing.
A quick demonstration of my "Magic Mirror" project from this month!
i just had this hankering to make an animation using cut out paper. i enjoyed this one so hopefully the first of many! i did most of the cutting out while watching david attenborough documentaries. felt nice making a little piece about the earth while learning about all the wildlife that makes it so great.
This has nothing to do with the theme it’s just a painting I did. I thought I posted this last month but apparently not. It’s not very creative.
This piece was made using the sound of a single space. I took a field recording of the ambience in my bedroom and isolated the resonant frequencies of the room. The air moving around the space helps to keep the tonal aspects of the piece moving and changing. The occasional noise from within or outside the space add a percussive texture, hopefully making this feel a bit more complete as a piece of music.
A collage made from photographs I have taken of my friends. They occupy much of the free space in my mind - bringing colour, music, and great food with them... of course, there's a free seat (space) for you if you'd like to join
Moons, blackholes and stars — and the black dog observing it all, with a familiar pinch of agency. Its a constantly developing project with the goal of locating that funny feeling St Augustine must have felt observing the fall of Rome.
