Submissions for June 2025.
The second piece of a series. Many will recognise the muse. Lino print on paper, enjoy :)
A portrait of the spectrum of emotions that a friendly game of darts awakens in a friendship group of cis-men.
(Oil on Canvas 5x7) Tony Leung working late in the office. I wanted to paint this still from In the Mood for Love (2000, dir. Wong Kar Wai) so I could study the lighting and composition in detail. I learned much about mixing my own blacks in the process.
A poem about counting your blessings.
My first attempt at oil painting. This awakened within me a love for this particular medium - one that I had been to intimidated to experiment with up until now.
a small collage referencing a past yet not so long ago era of a fun internet, let us awaken and make things fun again.
Typewritten Drawing, Poem. Something stirs within me. Something I've had in a box for a while. 'Awaken' I whisper through soft lips, feel the lid slide open. A box within a box; A love within a love. Stir, and move me.
While working so slowly and particularly on a painting for weeks, I challenged myself to accomplish one in a day. I asked friends to send me photos of people sleeping and chose this as it was so intimate. I feel like I had to awaken to push through the discomfort of working quickly, and this gorgeous subject is truly awakening to life!
The soundtrack to my short film-- Felt like sharing because it turned out a LOT better than I thought it would (And was good harp practice!). Special thanks to Meg Louise-Hill for her vocals.
I used a field recording of birdsong I captured in the lake district a few months ago, and created a patch on my drum machine that reminds me of windchimes in the morning. This formed the basis for a piece of music that I would awaken to. I also captured myself recording the piece on video. If you'd like to see it, let me know.
A short doc about trees, sound waves, and a little clay rabbit! I had a lot of fun making this, let me know your thoughts and feel free to hit me up if you'd like to work together on the next one!
A beluga whale swimming through moss covered cavern. Or at least the start of it I think

The blooming of flowers and the awakening of nature often symbolize new beginnings and renewal, signifying a transition from dormancy to vibrant life.
Acrylic on canvas piece inspired by how connecting with nature reawakens our senses, our gratitude, and our awareness, reminding us of the beauty and balance that exists both around us and within.
I spent an afternoon in my mum's garden working with wire, balance, light and found objects. I learnt how to make mobiles with tools like pliers & wire cutters, which are so foreign to my usual practice. Recently, at a festival, I had the opportunity to explore playing with wire, and it has awakened a new curiosity within me and it was a pleasure to photograph on a sunny day.
Data visualisation of when I was awake, sleepy, or asleep, over the course of 72 hours.
I've been transitioning in a big way in my practice, and this is my largest piece to date using some of my handmade mineral pigment oil paints. It is imperfect but I'm happy to leave it there The background is made with some oil pastels I didn't make, but an important part of the transition to using totally natural materials. It feels like an awakening in many senses, for my practice, for the deepened connection with the earth, and the abundance we see depicted in the painting itself.
Some small experiments to awaken my creativity through play. I thought about spiritual awakenings, and how we see things differently, depending on our inside state.
To me, AWAKEN means more than just waking up - it evokes a sense of spiritual change. My version of AWAKEN pulls from metamorphosis and the third eye to tell the story of Baba Vanga - upon going blind, her third eye was awakened and allowed her to predict the future with haunting accuracy.
It frightens me to think about the future of our beautiful planet. Without a change in behaviour, attitude, and appreciation, we have and will continue to face irreparable changes. Have we reached a point of no return? I still hold fragments of hope that someday, hopefully soon, there will be a turning point. I took this brief as more of a metaphorical "wake the f*** up!" to the world leaders and massive corporations & industries that continue to ignore their environmental impact - but still blame us for it. p.s. it's not 100% finished <3
really couldn't start on this. tried to write a list. made me think of all the lists and affirmations and life goals written as list, good ones. how many list do I need before I awaken. (not any?)
A sticky toffee carrot cake with homemade marmalade, cardamon cream cheese icing, caramelised walnuts and sticky toffee sauce. I made this fusion cake for my partners birthday celebration and moving into our first home as it was a blend of his two favourite cakes. Quite messy but delicious all the same.
Moments captured waking up in the morning during Mitoshka and I’s Japan trip ~Nov 2024
A mushroom inspired pair of earrings that reminds me of nature awakening from winter
A series of visions about the question of Motherhood.
Ive decided to use this platform as an excuse to post more reels. Most likely the videos I put out will not be on theme but hey atleast I'm playing in the playground. As Enrique Iglesias once said "I am therefore I am".
digging up some old recordings from the humus that is my phone library and grafting something new.
