Submissions for September 2025.
I've been thinking about the development of language and ancient traditions of humans gazing up to the skies, pondering existence and life itself. Photographed clay sculpture
A little demo of me playing around on the keys. I start with recordings on my zoom for a lot of my production. I recorded myself picking up and going through the post. It's not very prominent in the mix but got me started on this fun little piece.
Documenting my travels through Portugal in my sketchbook. Each page has a note, just for myself, to remember the little things along the way.
I've been finding new and engaging ways to cope with the changes life has thrown at me recently. Sometimes covering a classic song like this one really helps me get through a rough day.
A silly little painting on name play for Dudley
Signing an embroidered artwork. Embroidered with vintage cotton thread on a deep blue and white to echo the pattern on a found on a ceramic sherd - a field find from a walk along the Robin Hood Way beside my home. Extra texture details were made using simple needle perforations.
I’ve been away for the entire month and have had no time. Therefore, this entire entry is based upon the fact that ‘Letters’ sounds a bit like ‘Let us’. It also sounds a bit like ‘Lettuce’ hence the lettuce leaves. Sorry it’s just a shaky pun.
A photo of some of my field finds with typography on them. I use my field finds to inspire my art making - to draw from, to stitch from (see my other sub here); to print from, to emboss directly from - to generally draw inspiration from.
I don’t usually keep a journal, but I spent most of this month in Canada, a trip that’s been on my bucket list since I was little. I wanted to write down the small details so I can look back one day and remember not just what I saw, but how it felt. The trip also turned out to be extra special, as my partner proposed while we were there. It’s not quite finished, as I’m still reflecting and enjoying it all.
staff room dialect everyone's far too busy to say the full names of things darling
I wrote two letters at uni: one to my mum, one to my younger self. They were embroidered onto found garments reflective of those who they were written for. I had the flu this week, so rather than being able to reflect and make something new, I have re-read those letters and maybe in the weeks to come, I'll write new ones. Taken by Gianluca in 2019.
This was a tricky theme, it didn't immediately jump out at me how I could incorporate 'letters' into music. I then thought about voice notes, and how these are, in a way, a form of letter. This is a simple ambient track, centred around voice messages I've received. I processed and distorted the recordings to try and make them feel distant, nostalgic.
The final result is more like a sketchbook of the project. This was my first real experiment. It didn’t exactly go as planned, but playing with watercolor was pure fun. The last time I touched paint was back in *2020*. Originally, this was supposed to be a short film—but then I switched laptops, got lost in Apple’s universe, and the project never got exported.
